TED SUZUKI is Deputy General Counsel Business & Legal Affairs for DIRECTV, LLC, the nation’s leading satellite television provider.  Since joining DIRECTV in 1997, Suzuki has negotiated numerous deals involving sales, marketing, promotional and advertising matters for the company, including deals for DIRECTV’s National television ads featuring such celebrities and athletes like Kate Upton, Charlie Sheen, Beyoncé Knowles, Jessica Simpson, the Manning Brothers, Deion Sanders and Albert Pujols among others.  He is also responsible for the management of the company’s trademark and domain name portfolios, and other intellectual property matters.  For the past few years, Mr. Suzuki has been involved with ICANN as a DIRECTV representative in the Business Constituency of the GNSO.    Before joining DIRECTV, Mr. Suzuki was a Corporate Counsel for The Upper Deck Company, negotiating deals for baseball, hockey, motorsports and other entertainment products, including well-known athletes like Ken Griffey, Jr. and Wayne Gretzky. Mr. Suzuki is a graduate of Duke University and Boston University School of Law.
