DAVID G. MALLEN is partner and co-chair, advertising disputes at Loeb & Loeb LLP. David Mallen focuses his practice in the areas of advertising and consumer protection law. He represents marketers from a variety of industries in connection with national advertising campaigns, analysis of claim substantiation issues, and resolution of advertising disputes. Mr. Mallen is an experienced trial lawyer with expertise representing clients in all phases of litigation in state and federal court and in alternative dispute resolution. As former Deputy Director of the National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus, Mr. Mallen has extensive experience representing advertisers before the NAD and other self-regulatory bodies as well as the Federal Trade Commission. Mr. Mallen has particular expertise providing legal guidance to industry and representation of advertisers of food and beverages, cosmetics, OTC drugs, telecommunication services, consumer household products dietary supplements, and information technology.  He is also a popular speaker and lecturer at conferences and workshops on advertising claim substantiation, U.S. standards for industry self-regulation, advertising in social media, sustainability and green marketing, and scientific sensory testing.  He is the co-author of the e-book, How To Make Credible Green Marketing Claims. What Marketers Need to Know about The Updated FTC Green Guides. (Ad Age, September 2013).  Mr. Mallen presently serves as Vice Chair of the American Bar Association’s, Section on Antitrust Law, Advertising Disputes & Litigation Committee. Prior to joining Loeb & Loeb, Mr. Mallen served as the Deputy Director of the National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus.
