MICHAEL F. DAY is Principal Legal Counsel for Blackhawk Network, Inc. Blackhawk and its affiliates are a market leader in card-based financial solutions, a major worldwide distributor of third-party prepaid cards, a program manager for open loop gift and general purpose reloadable cards, and the operator of a reload network. Mr. Day has a widespread expertise in consumer financial services law with a specific focus on the payment industry. Prior to joining Blackhawk, he spent almost nine years as First Vice President and Assistant General Counsel for the Card Services division of Washington Mutual Bank (formerly Providian Financial Corporation). Before that, he spent 11 years in private practice with law firms in Chicago, Columbus, and Miami. He is a 1989 graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and is admitted in California, Illinois, and Ohio.
